Good morning LOVElies! Virginia is getting cold. I can’t wait to go Florida, the end of this month, for some warm beach weather. At least I know the sunshine is always shining when I’m smiling… hahha

It’s contagious so I hope you’re smiling too! How many of you love green smoothies? I mean they’re portable, easy, custom-made, help prevent kidney stones, fill you up, help you “go” haha, meal-replacer (if you add supplements), soothe acid indegestion, make you feel sexy, and it tricks you into being healthier. So sneaky! hahha Here’s one of my favorite green smoothie: “Gree-ana!”

What you need:

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 BIG handfuls of spinach
  • 1/2 cup water OPTIONAL: add a scoop of “metabolism booster” WHEYSMART to maintain your sexiness

What to do:

Blend everything in a blender until smooth. ENJOY! OPTIONAL: dress glass with cute fruit shapes and top with fresh fruits and chia seeds.  Mmmm YUM!!!

Hello LOVElies! What do you crave during the winter months? I crave soups, especially Zuppa Toscana. My beautiful friend, Amy@palecupboard, hooked us up with this yummilicious PALEO recipe! I am in love with it! Mmmm YUM!

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. bacon fat or tallow
  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 8 cups chicken stock
  • 4 medium turnips, skin removed and chopped (I used red potatoes)
  • 4 cups chopped kale leaves (stems removed) – 1 cup almond milk (unsweetened)
  •  Sea salt and ground black pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Place a large stockpot over medium high heat. Heat the bacon fat or tallow and add the Italian sausage to the pan and stir to brown the sausage for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the chopped onion, garlic and red pepper flakes to the pan. Saute for about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the chicken stock and turnips and stir to combine. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low. Allow to simmer for about 10 minutes. Add the kale and almond milk and allow to simmer for another 5 minutes or until heated through and turnips and kale are tender.
  4. Add sea salt and ground black pepper to taste. Serve.
